Description | This course unit explores marriage principally from the perspective of sacramental theology. It will help students appreciate the interaction between theology, society and the human person, and develop appropriate attitudes and skills for ministry. |
Lecturer's Introduction | Marriage is the most common Christian vocation. We have strikingly strong teaching from Jesus about marriage. The Church and civil society have had contrasting views of who can be married and whether marriages can be ended. The paper looks at the theology, the history, and the liturgy of marriage to provide a framework for understanding the sacrament. |
